5 Canadian Licensed Producers Providing Cannabis to Quebec

April 11, 2018

Before the open this morning, Aphria Inc. (TSX:APH) (OTC:APHQF) and several other Canadian Licensed Producers of cannabis announced that they had entered into commercial agreements with the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) to be the preferred supplier of cannabis products for the Quebec market.

The agreements are conditional on the adoption by the federal and provincial governments of the necessary regulatory framework, and the amount of cannabis to be supplied to the Quebec market are different for each of the five companies that made the announcement this morning. Lets take a look at which licensed producers structured a deal with SAQ and the details of those deals below:

Aphria Inc. (TSX:APH) (OTC:APHQF)

Aphria has signed a three-year agreement for up to 12,000 kg annually.

Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB) (OTC:ACBFF)

Aurora's supply quantities will be determined based on demand on a month by month basis, with a minimum of 5,000 kg for the first year, but no set maximum.

Canopy Growth Corporation (TSX:WEED) (OTC:TWMJF)

Canopy has signed a three year supply agreement for 12,000 kgs of cannabis products.

The Hydropothecary Corporation (TSXV:THCX) (OTC:HYYDF)

Hydropothecary will supply 20,000 kg of products in the first year of the agreement and is expected to supply 35,000 kg in the second year and 45,000 kg in the third. The volumes for the final two years of the agreement will be established at a later date based on the sales generated in the first three years.

MedReleaf Corp. (TSX:LEAF) (OTC:MEDFF)

MedReleaf is committed to supplying the Quebec market with 8,000 kilograms of cannabis products per year with a minimum three-year term.

The hope for many is that with these five deals, Quebec will have enough cannabis over the next several years and throughout the recreational legalization process.
