Aphria’s (TSX:APH)(OTC:APHQF)(FRA:10E) investee, Tokyo Smoke just announced that they have entered into a partnership with Aphria to introduce four medical cannabis strains. Grown and distributed by Aphria pursuant to the ACMPR, the cannabis strains will be available to Aphria patients with a valid medical recommendation starting August 24, 2017. This is the first time that a Canadian consumer brand has partnered with a licensed producer to launch branded medical cannabis in Canada.
The four strains (two sativa, one indicia and one hybrid) will be launched as part of a $250 CAD kit that features unique Tokyo Smoke packaging, five grams of each strain in custom crafted black glass jars and special welcome accessories. Aphria registered patients will be able to purchase the kit through the Aphria website starting August 24th.
Additionally, in celebration of the launch, a one-time version of the kit ($500 CAD) will be available through the Aphria site and will include a limited edition, co-branded Tokyo Smoke PAX 3. This is the first time that PAX will collaborate with a cannabis brand. Tokyo Smoke and PAX will produce just 100 of the dual-use, portable PAX vaporizers, and they will only be available as part of the special one-time only celebration kit, making them an enviable item for the discerning cannabis enthusiast.
In addition to this launch of branded medical cannabis in collaboration with Aphria, Tokyo Smoke sells an array of product lines thematically linked to four emotive states, including designer candles, coffee and tea in their retail and online stores.
Tokyo Smoke's co-founder and CEO, Alan Gertner
"This launch is the culmination of Tokyo Smoke's vision of providing a beautiful cannabis experience in both design and product. When conceptualizing each strain, we wanted to pair consistent, high-quality cannabis with a focus on Tokyo Smoke branding, design and packaging. Contemporary customers deserve to have a cannabis experience that aligns with the rest of their lifestyle."
