Harvest Medicine to Leverage Data to Enhance Patient Care

August 9, 2017

Based in northwest Calgary, Harvest Medicine is a leading medical marijuana clinic with a unique focus on patient education. Rather than just focusing on one portion of a patient's health, Harvest Medicine takes a different approach which they refer to as "360-degree patient wellness," covering all aspects of a patient's well being.

At Harvest Medicine, doctors provide patients with professional medical marijuana assessments and, combine that with their team of "Canna Geniuses," to offer patients top-notch cannabis education and support in a friendly environment. In an effort to increase the level of individualized care that their doctors provide, Harvest Medicine has partnered with Strainprint Technologies, the industry leader in cannabis consumption data and strain efficiency analytics.

Using Strainprint's mobile app, Harvest Medicine's 5,000+ medical marijuana patients will begin logging their marijuana usage and consumption data to better determine which cannabis strains are working for their symptoms, and which ones are not. Strainprint's individualized and aggregated data will allow Harvest Medicine to help any given patient find a better strain or better consumption method for their ailments. According to the release, "each clinic visit patients share their detailed outcomes reports with their doctor and together determine optimal treatment for overall wellness."

This means that if you were using Bubba Kush for your depression but noticed lackluster results, that you may be recommended to try a strain like Girl Scout Cookies instead. Surely, this is just an example, but Bubba Kush is widely regarded as a great strain for its analgesic effects whereas Girl Scout Cookies is known for its uplifting and de-stressing properties. A new cannabis patient wouldn't know this, but that's not their fault. By leveraging Strainprint's data and focusing on patient education, Harvest Medicine will improve the overall efficacy of medical marijuana treatment for its patients.

Harvest Medicine is not the first Canadian cannabis company to utilize Strainprint's databases to improve patient wellness however. Back in June, Strainprint signed a deal with Emblem Cannabis Corp. (TSXV:EMC) to launch a first-ever custom app platform for the thousands of patients that Emblem serves.

“In our search for resources to better serve our patients, we found Strainprint to have the most comprehensive and granular source of strain efficacy data. We will use this data to validate our existing knowledge base and to help shape our education initiatives,” said the CEO of Harvest Medicine. “Plus, the simple interface, breadth of symptom and strain coverage and ease of reporting make the Strainprint app the perfect value-add companion tool for our passionate patients.”

Not a patient of Harvest Medicine or Emblem Cannabis?.. Not to worry. Whether you have iPhone or Android, anyone can download Strainprint's mobile app to better track their cannabis consumption as well as compare strain efficacy for their symptoms.
