India Globalization Capital Inc. (NYSEMKT:IGC) just announced that the company has appointed Dr. Chuanhai Cao, an expert on THC-Based Alzheimer’s Disease treatments to the company's medical research team.
Dr. Cao has a PhD, in Medical Microbiology and Virology, from Tianjin Medical University in China. He is the author or co-author of roughly 80 peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr. Cao is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, at the University of South Florida’s College of Pharmacy and also teaches in the department of Neurology at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine.
Dr. Cao stated [he] "became particularly interested in Alzheimer’s disease, especially after the diagnoses of a few individuals close to me". Dr. Cao conducted the research underlying USF’s patent filing for the use of THC as a potential Alzheimer's treatment. India Globalization Capital recently acquired exclusive rights for this patent from USF.

At India Globalization Capital, Dr. Cao will be working to accelerate the company's efforts to move its THC-based Alzheimer’s product Hyalolex to clinical trials.
