Today's episode of CNBC's "Jay Leno's Garage" was featuring a pretty cool car. Sure, the show always features cool cars...but this week, it was a car made from cannabis. No, that was not a typo!
Lighter than steel or fiberglass, hemp makes an ideal material for car manufacturing. Hemp is also strong just like carbon fiber. A lighter car makes the car more fuel efficient, and therefore better for the environment. Talk about a win-win!
Renew is making an eco-friendly automobile from hemp, and we came accross the car initially after it was featured in Season 2 Episode 1 of Amazon Prime's "The Marijuana Show." While this may seem like something totally new and unheard of, Henry Ford actually conceptualized a similar vehicle back in 1941.
