The Toronto Venture Exchange is the Toronto Stock Exchange's cousin for smaller, emerging growth companies. Given the life stage of the marijuana industry, most of the companies fall on the smaller side of things, making the Toronto Venture Exchange a popular choice for listing, either for graduates from the CSE, reverse merger candidates or plain vanilla IPOs.
One interesting thing to note about the Toronto Venture Exchange is that they don't accept 'late stage ACMPR applicants' for listing on the exchange, so if you are looking to invest in applicants, check out the Canadian Securities Exchange instead. That said, many of the publicly traded licensed producers including Aurora Cannabis, Invictus MD Strategies, Cronos Group and WeedMD, among others, trade on the TSX-V.
