Did you know that there are 111 cannabinoids out there? The two most commonly known cannabinoids are Tetrahydrocannabinol ("THC") and Cannabidiol ("CBD"), but there's 109 more out there that don't get enough attention. For instance Cannabigerol ("CBG"), has been shown to drastically reduce inflammation and similarly to CBD, CBG is non-psychoactive.
Some of these lesser known cannabinoids include:
Cannabidiolic Acid ("CBDA"), which has been shown to posses antibiotic properties.
Cannabigerolic Acid ("CBGA"), which has also been shown to posses antibiotic properties.
Cannabichromene ("CBC"), which has been shown to posses antifungal properties and more.
Cannabinol ("CBN"), which has been shown to posses anticonvulsant and sedative properties.
Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabivarin ("THCV") which has been shown to posses pain relief and euphoriant properties.
As more research continues on their medicinal values, it will be interesting to see what these lesser know cannabinoids have to offer. For anyone looking to learn more about cannabis, be sure to check out Jeffrey Friedland's book titled Marijuana: The World's Most Misunderstood Plant.
