For those who were not able to make it out to Tel Aviv for the CannaTech 2017 Conference, all you need to know is that it was an absolute success.
Following the Israeli government's decision in February to allow the export of "medical-grade cannabis," Israel has become a new hotbed for growth within the industry. With so many biotech and pharmaceutical research companies already calling Israel home, it's no wonder companies are flocking there to take advantage of the new legislation regarding marijuana.
Yuval Landschaft, director of the Medical Cannabis Unit in the Israeli Ministry of Health, calls this "a real unique breakthrough" for Israel and mentions that the country is "willing to share it" with other countries like the United States that has far tougher rules on cannabis cultivation.
There is no doubt that the marijuana research in Israel will be of interest to other countries. How do we know? There are currently over 120 ongoing studies on how marijuana can help treat all kinds of diseases.
