6 Marijuana Stocks We're Watching Today

March 9, 2017

Looking at the news released this morning from cannabis-related stocks, it seems that there are a handful of companies worth keeping an eye on in trading today. You'll find charts for these six marijuana stocks in the embedded widget below:

Whats Moving in the Canadian Marijuana Stocks?

This morning, Aurora Cannabis introduced "the cannabis industry's most comprehensive product testing disclosure process" in the wake of investor fear regarding medical marijuana recall scares. Shares of Aurora Cannabis (TSXV:ACB) (OTC:ACBFF) (FRA:21P) are up over 7% in trading so far today, and we'll be watching the markets as the announcement continues to be digested by marijuana stock traders and investors.

In other news this morning, Cronos Group announced that they were re-investing in Canadian Licensed Producer, Whistler Medical Marijuana. Cronos owns a 21.5% stake, and invested more money ahead of expansion plans to prevent stake dilution. Shares of Cronos Group (TSXV:MJN) (OTC:PRMCF) are up over 1.25% in trading so far today, and we'll be watching as investors and traders digest the re-investment news.

Whats Moving in the U.S. Marijuana Stocks?

In U.S. marijuana-related stocks, we're watching shares of Blue Line Protection Group following their announcement of a nearly 300% increase in cash processing services. For those who are not familiar with Blue Line Protection, they are a "leading security, transportation and risk mitigation solutions provider for financial institutions servicing the legal cannabis industry." Shares of Blue Line Protection Group (OTC:BLPG) are up over 3.5% in trading so far today, and we'll be keeping a close eye on trading as the day continues.

Also, we'll be watching shares of Surna following their announcement yesterday evening regarding the closing of a financing round. Two Surna insiders announced selling yesterday as well, giving mixed signals to Wall Street. Shares of Surna Inc. (OTC:SRNA) are down nearly 2% in trading so far today, and we'll be sure to watch how investors and traders digest the mixed bag of news.

Also announced yesterday evening, 22nd Century Group filed their 10-K annual report with the SEC, and scheduled a conference call to discuss results with investors. Shares of 22nd Century Group (NYSE:XXII) are flat on the day so far, but we'll be sure to see some action as Wall Street digs into the 10-K. We expect further action in shares of XXII during and following the scheduled conference call.

Whats Moving in the Australian Marijuana Stocks?

In the Australian Marijuana Stocks, we're watching Zelda Therapeutics. While there's no recent news out on the company, increased coverage of Australian cannabis companies has caused shares of Zelda Therapeutics (ASX:ZLD) (OTC:ZLDAF) to shoot up in the recent trading session, leading to profit taking and selling pressure today. Shares of Zelda Therapeutics are down over 16% so far in trading today, and we'll be watching closely as this volatility plays out.
