Today's term of the day is warrants, and no this time we aren't referring to arrest warrants.
Warrants in the context of investments are securities that allow their owner to purchase a specific number of shares of the company who issued them at a specific price, on a specific date. Warrants differ from their cousin, stock options in two major ways. They generally have a much longer term to expiration, and are issued by the company itself.
